In mid-2017, Thales and SES propose to North American airlines broadband Internet on their lines in the Americas. The system will have the performance of the fiber in land that will screen videos and live movies, access social networks and online games.
Gone are the disconnection in the air. Internet must be everywhere. This is the purpose of the partnership agreement signed Monday between Thales and the operator of satellite services ITS. Together, the two companies plan to provide passenger had an Internet connection as good as fiber to the home. Thales is betting that three quarters of the global air fleet will be equipped with these connectivity systems by 2020.
