Apple will release the NFC from its iPhone

Apple will release the NFC from its iPhone

Apple has equipped its iPhone with an NFC chip since September 2014. The component was only reserved for payment, but with the arrival of iOS 11, developers will have more freedom.
Indeed, Apple unveiled the Core NFC framework that will make field-proximity capabilities, accessible for other applications.

Third-party developers will now be able to use the NFC chip through the framework. In its documentation, Apple specifies that tags must be compatible with the NFC Data Exchange Format (NDEF) format. The functionality is also only available on the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. In any case, the arrival of the framework opens the way to many possibilities. "For example, your app can give users information about the products they find in a store or objects they visit in a museum," Apple explains on its page.

IPhones can also be used to authenticate employees in a company or locations. Apple is increasing the possibilities offered by iOS 11. In addition to Core NFC, developers will have ARKit available for augmented reality applications.
