These glasses hide an activity tracker

VSP Global, a network of eye care companies in the United States, is about to sell its "Level" smart glasses next month.

VSP Global, a network of eye care companies in the United States, is about to sell its "Level" smart glasses next month. Unlike the efforts of Intel and Vuzix, these glasses do not have sophisticated displays or augmented reality capabilities.

Instead, they are designed to help the owner stay in shape. Sold at $ 270, they have a standard design and come with the same sensors found in fitness equipment designed for the wrist. There are three styles of frames, each in four different colors.

Leslie Muller, Co-Director of VPS's The Shop Innovation Lab, said, "Eyeglasses are medical devices, fashion accessories and the world's oldest form of portable technology. To honor this legacy, we've combined industrial design, engineering, and traditional eyewear manufacturing to create some things that are transparent and fashionable, too. "

Level counts steps, distance traveled and calories burned, it also comes with a companion app that can locate it easily. Points are also obtained to reach the daily goals. Each time you accumulate 50 points, VSP will provide an eye exam and a pair of glasses free of charge to someone in need.
