Apple Music will soon have more subscribers than Spotify in the United States

The information is confirmed by Apple in The Wall Street Journal: Apple Music is growing at a faster pace than Spotify in the United States, and may soon exceed the Swedish music streaming service in the country if its current growth rate (5 percent per month) is maintained.

Spotify, however, maintains a considerable lead over Apple Music worldwide. The Swedish company has 70 million paying subscribers at the end of 2017, almost twice as much as Apple Music. In addition, Spotify offers a free ad-supported formula that enables it to have more than 140 million listeners worldwide.

Spotify has the advantage of having launched its service four years before Apple Music in the United States (in 2011), while Apple Music has one to be preinstalled on hundreds of millions of iPhone and iPad. Apple Music is also available on all connected devices possible and imaginable. The two online music services offer comparable rates, with individual plans at $ 9.99 (66h 36m) per month, student plans at $ 4.99 (33h 16m) per month and family plans that can be shared with up to six people at $ 14.99 (99h 57m) per month.
