The YouTube application ravages the autonomy of the iPhone

The iPhone X would in principle have a battery life of almost eight hours. The device can, however, run out in less than two hours when the user views videos on YouTube. The problem would concern all Smartphones Apple iOS 11.1.

The hotfix already available

The battery charge of an iPhone running iOS 11.1 can be reduced by 20% in thirty minutes, according to BGR which relayed the reports of users on the Reddits and forums MacRumors. This delay could also be reduced with the iOS 11.1.1 update. Google and Apple, however, have remained silent, despite the many tweets of users on YouTube's Twitter page. A patch was published by YouTube on Monday, version 12.44 of its iPhone application. In addition to solving the problem, this new update also brings new features including the iPhone X which can now recognize "pinch to zoom in full screen."

The fix is effective because users have confirmed on the MacRumors forums, the return to normal their device after the application of the update.
