The first details on the next iPad are starting to leak.

The launch of the iPhone X involves a number of changes in the Apple ecosystem. Now, iOS can be used without a Home button and user recognition can be done without fingerprint. When and how will these changes affect the other products of the manufacturer?

A borderless iPad Pro in 2018?

After their revelations about the Apple augmented reality headset, our colleagues from Bloomberg have found information on the future tablets of the brand for the year 2018.

Apple would work on a brand new high-end iPad, which would be entitled to several new features of the iPhone X as the TrueDepth sensor on the front, allowing recognition Face ID, and an edge-to-edge screen. Unlike the new smartphone, this screen would however LCD and not OLED, probably the fault of insufficient production capacity on slabs as large.

The edge-to-edge screen, coupled with Face ID, implies that the historic home button should disappear, as on the iPhone. The iOS 11 update on the iPad already prepared users for this change, more and more actions are performed by gestures.

The iPad in question would be a new iPad 10.5-inch model, so presumably a replacement for the iPad Pro 10.5 launched earlier this year.

Apple still believes in the iPad

Despite disappointing sales quarter after quarter, Apple still wants to invest in the development of its tablet, which it sees as the future of consumer computing, and as an ideal replacement for laptops.

This new iPad will however show that there is still a market fond of new products in the sector.
