Skype is inspired by Snapchat and adds effects to photos

After Facebook and Instagram, Skype is also inspired by Snapchat. Microsoft has decided to introduce the effects for photos on its messaging application.

Skype has added a host of Snapchat-inspired effects to its platform. The user can indeed add stickers, filters, but also text to their photos. The effects work through an artificial intelligence developed by Microsoft that is able to detect the emotions and age of the person in a photo. The effects can vary throughout the day so the user will have to consult the application several times not to miss them.

This is not the first time that Microsoft has used artificial intelligence to suggest photo effects to users. The technology was already present on Sprinkles but it is the first time that Microsoft introduces it on an application as important as Skype.

The new feature should be deployed on Skype mobile apps in the coming days.
