[IFA 2016] Samsung introduces its new smart watch : the Gear S3

As usual, Samsung Unpacked conference was held on the sidelines of the IFA. This first presentation is dedicated to mobility. For the edition 2016, the Korean manufacturer unveiled a new watch connected: the Gear S3. This replaces the S2, one of the best models in the category that remains besides the catalog.

There are already the size: the S3 passes 46 mm and Super AMOLED screen of 1.3 inches (42 mm and against a screen of 1.2 '' for the previous model). It was one of the main criticisms of the Samsung S2 and corrected it. This larger size enables especially to add technology to the watch. Consequence: Gear S3 is adorned with a GPS, a speakerphone, a barometer and a 4G LTE chip (the last equip a future version of the watch).

The battery has also been increased (380 mAh) with the autonomy to four days, according to statements from the Korean manufacturer. For the rest, the Samsung connected watch is based on the recipe that made the success of the S2, starting with the design and scope of control, all under the house OS: Tizen.

Samsung Gear S3 will be available in 2 models: Classic and Frontier, the first offering thus made based on metal and leather leaving the casual appearance / sports second. Its price is expected to start at € 299 for the Bluetooth model and up to 399 € for the 4G model. These are only estimates, Samsung has not yet reported on its rates.
