IOS applications will soon be compatible with macOS, and vice versa

The iPhone, iPad and Apple TV work with iOS while computers use macOS. The brand wants to create a universal application to connect its two worlds.

Called "Marzipan", this project aims to create universal applications that would work on both an iPhone and a Mac. Such a bridge would simplify the lives of users who will no longer need to go to the Mac AppStore after buying a product on the App Store. If all goes as planned, the official presentation of this system should take place at the next Apple conference for developers.

According to an Apple developer, this common development kit would also aim for the common evolution and growth of their two operating systems. This initiative taken by the manufacturer would allow users to go to the cash register only once. Nevertheless, this reconciliation between desktop applications and mobile applications does not translate into a merger of the two application stores.

The union of two blinds could lead to the deficit of the other. It should not be forgotten that Microsoft had already lost Windows Phone with its universal applications. Google has also moved away from Chrome Apps to highlight extensions and themes on its WebStore.
