Automakers, many startups and IT companies are working on autonomous car.
We regularly talk about the subject and it is the turn of Airbus to make an announcement on the subject and to go even further. Indeed, the latter has announced work on autonomous flying taxi!
Do not see the subject as flying cars in the Luc Besson fifth element, but more as a kind of fusion between the drone and the autonomous car.
Airbus says that by 2030, 60% of the population live in cities, 10% more than today. According to Airbus planes, users would visit heliports, named "zenHub" scattered in different parts of the city to address their taxi drone ( "zenHop") which then transport them to their destination. Furthermore guests' luggage would be transported separately through a delivery service called "zenLuggage".
A very serious project, Airbus announced the first tests for 2017!
Through these ads, may have found that the autonomous transportation is turning increasingly to car pooling, public transit.
IBM is working on the subject, Uber, Tesla is preparing a project, etc.
The news remains rich on the subject and will continue in this direction.
