A researcher finds security flaws in most connected locks market






















Anthony Rose researcher showed different feats he performed on locks connected at the Defcon last week. Defcon is the largest conference of researchers in computer security.

Anthony Rose wanted to test its new Bluetooth sniffer when he realized the large number of locks connected in his neighborhood. He took advantage to inspect the safety of the latter.


The result is not very glorious, connected on 16 locks of different brands purchased and tested, 12 contained security vulnerabilities or simply were not secure, the password is in plain ...























A peak for connected objects are supposed to guarantee the inviolability of home. 4 of these locks the researcher has managed to change the master password, and can prevent access to the owners, the only way to reset it is to remove the battery from the device.

Only one company responded to the researcher after contacting various companies regarding their findings.

Rose has tested only 16 connected locks, but the quickly evolving market, many solutions appear every year.
