How Facebook Replaces Your Weather

How Facebook Replaces Your Weather

Facebook users have certainly noticed the weather report at the top of the news feed. Since February 8th, this small message leads to a real advanced weather functionality.
On the Facebook mobile app, the tab is in the same pane as the groups, and the events.
Facebook delivers detailed weather forecasts from Weather.com. The information concerns the city of the user by default, but it is possible to set this tab with another locality by going to the weather section.

The page presents weather forecasts for the next five days. The background image matches the weather. And if the temperature is displayed in degrees Fahrenheit, the adjustment panel at the top right of the section will change it to Celsius.

According to Facebook, nearly 95% of users already have the functionality. The social networking giant is currently working on a weather reporting system. It is integrated with the site, but will only be fully functional by the end of the month. The idea behind these "new" features is obviously to encourage users to check the weather via Facebook and possibly interact with their friends based on this weather. In addition, Facebook has improved its Safety Check tool and artificial intelligence since the beginning of the year.
