G6: LG presents its smartphone with giant screen

As expected, LG opened the conference dance in Barcelona on Sunday. In the absence of the Samsung Galaxy S8, the Korean manufacturer put the little dishes in the big ones to draw attention to him by presenting his new LG G6.

After the failure of the modular G5 last year, LG decided for this new G6 to resume with a more conventional approach. The aim was to offer a larger screen, but for a device that can be held in one hand. A strategy that corresponds in all respects to the many leaks of recent months, both the anonymously published photos on the Internet and the announcements of LG that did not mystery the presentation of its smartphone.

Specifically, the LG G6 screen measures 5.7 inches diagonally in 18: 9 format, displaying 2880 pixels per 1440 pixels. A format that contrasts with 16: 9, which is generally adopted by smartphone manufacturers since it is longer and Allows you to play video files in more panoramic formats. According to LG, the LG G6 template is the one traditionally used for a smartphone with a 5.2-inch screen thanks to its particularly fine edges. The screen of the G6 thus occupies 80% of the surface of the smartphone. LG also partnered with Dolby to offer HDR content playback via Dolby Vision and HDR10.

In terms of technical specifications, the LG G6 is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor with 4 GB of RAM, 32 GB of storage, a dual 16-megapixel rear photo sensor, an 8-megapixel front panel sensor and a battery Of 3300 mAh. It can also be recharged through a USB-C connector, has a fingerprint reader at the back, is certified water resistant and IP68 dust and has the Google Wizard system, at least for countries Where the Google service was translated from English.

The smartphone will be available in April in three colors: gray, black or white. However, the LG G6 tariff has not yet been disclosed.
