Amazon on Thursday announced a new member of its tablet family.
Here's everything you need to know about Amazon's biggest tablet.
Amazon now offers the HD Fire 10 with an updated metal design for the same price as the original black plastic option.
Here's the black plastic model to compare.
The new metal design gives Fire HD 10 a premium look and feel, whereas the plastic on the original model was said to be "cheap-feeling."
Aesthetics aside, the latest updates to the Fire HD 10 includes a new 64GB option, which costs $290, in addition to the existing $16GB and 32GB models. You can expand storage up to 128GB with a microSD card.
It has a 10-inch screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio, which is better for watching videos than the iPad's 4:3 aspect ratio screen. The Fire HD shows 22% more of the actual video on the screen instead of the letter-boxing you'll often find on iPad.
It also features two speakers on the bottom edge of the tablet for stereo sound, which is also a bonus when watching video content.
Amazon claims it's twice as touch as the iPad Air 2, but we have no way of verifying this just yet. Either way, we would still suggest you be careful with the Fire HD 10, as it's still a slab of glass.
The new Fire HD 10 runs on Android, but it's hardly recognizable as Amazon added its own thick layer of software on top called "Bellini."
It also comes with a 720p front-facing camera for video calls. It also has a 1080p camera round the back, too.
