Google unveils first contribution to the draft OCP

Google and Facebook announced last March for their partnership called the Open Compute Project, intended to unify the servers and improve energy efficiency. And Google recently has revealed the first contribution to the project, under the name of Open Rack 2.0.
Open Rack 2.0, its mission of energy and the actual space savings in the data center, which is similar to the design used by Google in the first part version in 2010, but they spent millions of dollars to the new version, which has recycled components, and the inclusion of battery backup, and other things that provide high efficiency in energy conversion.

Google reported that the Open Rack 2.0 is ready for use for those who wish to get more efficient services. The project will be displayed in the OCP Conference, on August 10 at the University of New Hampshire. The conference will be attended by big names of the companies, such as Intel, IBM, Microsoft, and others.

In case of acceptance of the companies mentioned for the project, they will be enrolled in the initiative, Facebook, and put pressure on other technology companies to adopt it.
